Market Drayton Infant & Nursery School

‘An excellent, happy school, where we enjoy learning’

In Maths, we have been investigating 3D shapes and their properties.  We investigated the number of edges, vertices and faces that different 3D shapes had.  During this investigation we collaborated to make different 3D shapes, this was a good opportunity to practise describing the properties of each shape.

In maths we have been solving multiplication and division problems using arrays. We have been using pictures, objects, number sentences to represent and reasoning about what we found.

Within maths the children have been using their dienes to show our working out for adding and subtracting one digit and two digit numbers.

Adding Tens and Ones

The children have been using dienes alongside their part, part, wholes for adding tens and ones in their addition number sentences.
