Tag Rugby

Tag Rugby Tournament

A successful sporting start this Autumn Term has been had by the Year 2’s. We have had the first of our four annual tournaments, a Tag Rugby Tournament. This has timed perfectly with the Rugby World Cup! The children were fantastic, they enjoyed getting to know how these afternoons will run. We played all the matches on the field, two games running at once. It is a knockout tournament so if a team wins they are through to the next round. The weather and the field was perfect for outside sports!

The children were put in to country teams. They played some really good games showing real perseverance and teamwork and also a good understanding of how rugby is played. It was a pleasure to organise the tournament for them. The final ended up with a team from Moon class called Samoa and Wales from Sun class. What a battle these two teams had! The Grove students were amazed at the standard of the childrens’ ability, how committed the children are. Well done to everyone, they have learnt so much about teamwork and playing in a competitive situation. The children shake hands with each other at the end of each game to congratulate each other. It is lovely to see.
