With the fast-approaching Platinum Jubilee Celebrations from June 2nd – 5th 2022 amongst other activities and celebrations, we have been thinking about other ways to mark this momentous occasion.
Staff and pupils at Market Drayton Infant & Nursery School will “Plant a Tree for the Jubilee”.
This will be marked with a sustainable plaque made from recycled material purchased from RBLI (Royal British Legion Industries) which has been crafted by Armed Forces veterans. In purchasing this, the school will be supporting RBLI by helping to create jobs for veterans, ensuring that our involvement has a positive impact.
As a charity (Registered Charity no. 0210063), RBLI provides stable, permanent employment for the country’s most disadvantaged veterans and those with disabilities, including those overcoming injuries and mental health challenges. As part of their employment with RBLI, they have designed and created a collection of decorative products, made especially to decorate the streets, parks, schools, gardens and other facilities across the United Kingdom.
Every penny of the purchase of the plaque will fund the employment and support for veterans, their families and people with disabilities.
It is thanks to the fantastic support from schools such as yours that RBLI has been able to keep providing assistance and employment for the nation’s most vulnerable veterans throughout the pandemic. By celebrating The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee with their new products, our veterans would be honoured to have your support.
